Disputing the Roadsurfer / Creditreform debt
Context
Roadsurfer GmbH billed €2,549 for a scratch on the roof of a van rented in August 2025 — one month after the return, with no joint inspection, even though the roof already had pre-existing damage documented in the contract. The debt was passed to Creditreform München (bumped to €2,806 with collection fees), with automated reminders despite the ongoing dispute.
What was built
- Formal Widerspruch filed via the Creditreform chatbot with structured arguments
- Detailed dispute emails to Creditreform and Roadsurfer (3 successive emails), point-by-point reply to the only human response received
- Full dispute letter in FR + DE in
.docxand.pdf - PDF compilation of all original documents (booking, payment, contract with pre-existing damage, deposit, return protocol, bounce email, dispute letter, invoice)
- CEC France complaint filed on eccwebforms.eu with power of attorney + attachments
What was tricky / unexpected
- Copy-pasting from Claude to Apple Mail turned
#characters into hyperlinks — fixed by using "Nr." instead - The original documents were spread across two Claude conversations — used a relay prompt to compile from the other conversation
Stack
Python (pypdf, Pillow) for JPG→PDF conversion and compilation, CEC form on eccwebforms.eu, Creditreform chatbot.
What this shows
Claude as a hands-on legal assistant: bilingual drafting (FR/DE), guided navigation through third-party interfaces (debt-collection chatbot, CEC form), document compilation, progressive escalation strategy (dispute → collection agency → CEC), consistent paper trail over several weeks.
Still to do
- Wait for CEC France's response
- If insufficient: SignalConso (DGCCRF) or formal notice via a lawyer
- Monitor new Creditreform reminders and remind them that the debt is disputed
